As one of Napa Valley’s longest-continually-run wineries, we honor the heritage of this remarkable wine growing region with every grape grown, every wine bottled, every sip savored. From decades of sustainable farming to our long, unapologetic fascination with Merlot, we celebrate the adventurous spirit of Napa while embracing the unique voice of the land. Merlot is the flagship wine here at Markham. It’s sometimes perceived as being ‘soft’ but I think what is meant is balanced — and balance is the key to making great wine. Each of our exceptional wines is a nuanced expression of the region’s character, born of the soil and nurtured with respect for yesterday’s successes and a passion for tomorrow’s discoveries. With Bordeaux in our blood, it’s no surprise we were one of the first California wineries to grow and specialize in Merlot.
